Stella Lewitt "Arlene"

Stella A. Lewitt “Arlene” Age 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Arlene was born in the Spring of 1923 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Stanley and Effie Vis. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ben Earl who passed in 2001 as well as by her beloved and only son Benjamin III who died recently in March of 2019. Arlene is survived by her three grandsons Benjamin R. Lewitt IV, Jesse Lewitt, and Daniel Lewitt (Sharin) and her daughter-in-law Elfrieda Lewitt. Also surviving is her sister Shirley Geib and her sister-in-laws Alice Vis and Thelma Vis. Arlene will be remembered as a talented knitter and quilter. Many of her friends and family were fortunate to have been the recipient of one of her fine quilts. Friends may visit with family on Friday, May 10 from 12-2 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Van Strien-Creston Chapel, (1833 Plainfield Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). Arlene will be laid to rest next to Ben in Fairplains Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Van Andel Research Institute for Cancer Research.
