Life Story / Obituary

Print

Sharon Lou Turowski (nee Grady) passed away at her home on December 2, 2020. Sharon was born on June 10, 1943 in Grand Rapids to Robert and Gertrude (Fisher) Grady. After graduating from Central High School in 1962, she worked as a clerk at a few different businesses. On September 21, 1963, she married Paul Turowski, and together they raised their three children on the northeast side of Grand Rapids. She enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, and she was a competitive bowler. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially in later years her grandchildren. “Busia” was supportive and encouraging at all the grandchildren’s sporting events. She enjoyed time at the family cottage in Bitely, looking forward to the annual Bitely homecoming.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Williams, and her brother, Jack Raymond. Sharon is survived by her husband of 57 years, Paul “Turk” Turowski; their children Mary (Chris) Fix, Andrew (Tricia) Turowski, and Lori Turowski; grandchildren Bobby, Kyle, Nate (Katelyn) Blaszak, Elyse Fix, Nicholas and Sammy Turowski; step grandchildren Nick & Ashley (Goob) Fix, Rachel Fix, Kristyl & Doug Edwards; step-great grandchildren Jayla, Ella and Eli; her loving younger sister, Bonnie (Dick) Whitley; nieces, Sandy, Michelle, and Lynn and nephew Roger, as well as other nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 9, 2020 11:00 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church. Friends may visit with her family at the church from 10 AM until the service. For those who wish, memorial contributions to either St. Jude Catholic Church or Spectrum Health Hospice are appreciated. To share a memory or sign her guestbook, visit www.heritagelifestory.com
