Koenes - Mr. Roger J. Koenes, aged 83 of Grand Rapids passed away and entered into the arms of his Savior Saturday August 16, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Karen, his children Jennifer and Dennis Vredeveld, Julie and David Nyenhuis, David and Pamela Koenes, Sara Koenes, his grand children: Nathan (Joanna) Vredeveld, Rachel (Timothy) Dougherty, Samantha Nyenhuis, Travis (Alyssa) Nyenhuis, Joshua Koenes, his great granddaughter Brynlee Pickerd. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Melissa Vredeveld. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Joanne Spender and several nieces and nephews cousins. Roger was a retiree of General Motors, a long time member of Riverside Christian Reformed Church, now North End Chapel. He also enjoyed camping with his family and traveling. One of the joys of his life was his grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 21 at 12 Noon at North End Chapel, 604 Comstock Blvd. N.E. with Rev. Benjamin Browneye officiating. Interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the church Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service.
