Roger D. Chapman

Roger D. Chapman, aged 58, of Clarksville, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 17, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Duane Chapman. He is survived by his children, Roger Chapman of Grand Rapids and Kelly (Mark) Maatman of Decatur, IL; brother, Stanley (Edie) Chapman; sisters, Belinda (Jim) Frantom, Vickie Chapman and Mickie Chapman; several, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a graduate of Ferris State University and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Mr. Chapman was a past president and very active in Lowell Rotary, a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church where he was head usher and member of the building committee, a supporter of Lowell Area School programs, a Promise Keepers member for over 10 years, and a member of the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. Roger was a strong and active supporter of the Lowell community, the Lowell YMCA, Lowell Area Arts Council, and owner for 22 years of the State Farm Insurance Agency in Lowell. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 22, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood United Methodist Church, Rev. David L. Flagel, officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell and Friday one hour prior to the service at church.
