Richard (Dick) C. Piotrowski, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 4, 2019. Richard was born in Grand Rapids, MI on September 16, 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Veronica Piotrowski, brothers Joseph and Donald Piotrowski, sisters, Margaret Pagel and Doris Kneibel and nephew Frank Pagel III.

He is lovingly remembered by two brothers in law; Frank Pagel and Ted J. Kneibel, a sister in law Donna VanDam and his nephews and nieces; Marilyn VanRiper, Dan Pagel ~ Ted T. (Tom) Kneibel, Larry Kneibel, Kathy Francisco, Greg Kneibel, Lisa Beyer ~ Joseph Piotrowski, Daniel Piotrowski, James Piotrowski, Gerald Piotrowski, Gayle Hammerlind, Susan Piotrowski, Richard T. Piotrowski and Deanna Piotrowski ~ Donald Piotrowski Jr. and Mary Ann LaCosse.

Dick graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School in 1951 where he excelled at both Track and Cross Country. After High School he and his two brothers worked at the Town Talk Service Station located near their home where they attended cars on roller skates. Two years later he enlisted in the US Army with his twin brother Donald and served honorably until 1955 when he transferred to the Army Reserves for six more years of service. He spent most of his career working for Kirkhof and retired in 1995. His greatest passions in life were fishing and hunting. He was happiest when spending time with his friends and nephews up north at his cabin and out west in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. He will best be remembered for his thriftiness coupled by his God-given talents to repair almost anything presented to him by family, friends and neighbors. Visitation will be held at Heritage Life-Story Funeral Home, Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI on Wednesday, February 6 at 7:00-9:00pm. A Celebration of Richard’s Life and Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 11:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church ~ 423 First St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504 with the Reverend Ronald D. Hutchinson officiating. In accordance with his faithfulness and generosity, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand Rapids Right to Life.
