Richard Arden Sackett

SACKETT - Mr. Richard "Dick" Arden "Cannon" Sackett, age 75, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2006. Richard was born in Oconomowoc, WI on December 16, 1930 and moved to Fremont, MI with his family at the age of 15. Richard joined the US Navy when he was 19 years old and received an honorable discharge to return home after the sudden death of his young father. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Heber F. Sackett, and by his mother, June Sackett (Unabelle Marie Pierson), both of Fremont, MI. He spent the last 25 years living in northern Kent County and Montcalm County until retiring from the automobile business and settling in Belmont. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Sharon (Greg) Wylie of Belmont, MI, Rick (Tracy) Sackett of Rockford, MI, Kevin (Amy) Sackett of Howard City, MI; his grandchildren, Matthew, Justin and Corey Wylie, Matthew, Kristie and Evan Sackett, and Joshua Sackett; his sister, Ardes (Alan) Baars of Fremont, MI and Bradenton, FL; his brothers, Lee Alan (Margo) Sackett of New Brunswick, Canada, Robert A. (Monica) Sackett of Cedar Springs, MI; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved companion dog, Louis. A private family service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home in Fremont.
