Richard Alan Meyer

Richard Alan Meyer, age 45, passed away unexpectedly at his home near the Wright Patterson Air Force base in Fairborn, OH. Rick was born January 8, 1961 in Tres Arroyos, Argentina where the family served as missionaries. Rick was a career air traffic controller and instructor with the U.S. Air Force and carried out active duty at bases in Florida, Missouri, Mississippi, Alaska and Ohio. After serving for nearly 20 years, Rick was medically and honorably discharged October 2005 because of diabetes. Richard Alan Meyer is survived by his parents, Edward and Wilma Meyer; his son, Joshua A. Meyer and stepson, TJ Miller of Grand Rapids, MI; his siblings, Milt and Dawn Meyer Guinette of Portland, OR, Janet Meyer of Orlando, FL and Timothy and Jennifer Meyer of Grand Rapids, MI, and nieces, Ana, Valea, Claire, and Ellie. A memorial service to celebrate Rick's life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 1, at the Cascade Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 6655 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Elim Christian Services, 13020 S.
