Rev. Peter Huisman

The redeemed spirit of the Rev. Peter Huisman, aged 89, of Sunset Manor, passed away and returned to the God, who gave him life, on Wednesday, December 7, 2005. During his ministry he served Christian Reformed Churches in Allison IA, Eastmanville MI, Corsica SD, Palos Heights IL, Rock Rapids IA, Pine Creek in Holland, and East Palmyra NY. He was elected as Stated Clerk of five classis, and five times he was privileged to be delegated to a CRC Synod, enjoying the "Rules Committee". He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert and sister, Ida. Those left to grieve his departure are his faithful, loving wife, Ann C. (Van Someren) with whom he completed 64 years of Christian Marriage; their two daughters, Judith (David) Stansby of Holland, Louise Miles of Florida; three grandchildren, Tracia Stansby, Dr. Eric Stansby, Susette (Jeffrey) Hunt; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom (Fran) Huisman, Ray (Evelyn) Huisman, Marvin (Ruth) Huisman; sisters, Agnes Pruim, Marion Sperling; sister-in-law, Margaret Rozendal; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Twelfth Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 7551 12th Avenue, Jenison, with Rev. Laryn Zoerhof and Rev. Robert Huisman, officiating. Interment Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Holland. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Calvin Seminary or the Back to God Hour.
