Priscilla Katherine Rulison, affectionately known as Tudie, passed away on January 17, 2025.

Born and raised in Manistee, Michigan, Tudie was a bright and dedicated student and was

honored as the valedictorian of her class at Manistee High School. She pursued higher

education at Michigan State University where she earned a degree in education. Tudie went on

to inspire countless students as a high school English and Spanish teacher, sharing her love for

language and literature.

In her spare time she was a talented painter and voracious reader. She enjoyed the outdoors,

swimming in the summer and skiing and figure skating in the winter.

Tudie will be remembered for her love of and dedication to Manistee. She founded a bookstore,

which has persisted on River Street under new ownership, sang with church choirs and the

Manistee County Choral Society, and volunteered for several organizations across town

including the Manistee Elks. She was baptized at Guardian Angels Church, now part of Divine

Mercy Parish, where she was a longtime member deeply devoted to her faith and community.

She is survived by her children Elizabeth Buck (Keith), Aaron Rulison (Chen Dan) and Robert

Rulison (Catherine Adams), ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in

death is her husband John G Rulison, her parents Robert Joseph Wellman and Virginia Isabelle

Wellman nèe Jacobus, three sisters and a brother.

Service arrangements are pending.
