Peter C. DeVos, aged 82, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 19, 2013 following a stroke. Peter was a lifelong carpenter who worked for Triangle Associates and the Grand Rapids School Board.
Peter was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Sue Berens. He will be missed by his children, Sherry and Gord Nederveld, Douglas and Carol DeVos, Laurie Slagter, Pamela and Jeffrey Schrier, Mark and Kim DeVos and son-in-law Doug Berens. Pete is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and his sisters, Delores Bultema, Betty Ackles, and Martheen Cook , and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes - Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel from 5pm – 8pm on Tuesday, October,22. Peter’s funeral service will be at 11 am on Wednesday at Westview Christian Reformed Church, 2929 Leonard NW. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery.
