Peggy Wilcome

Margaret (Peggy) Wilcome of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025. Peggy was a lifelong resident of the Grand Rapids area, and a proud Westsider. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katie Wilcome. Peggy is survived by her children, Karen Boone, Daniel Wilcome, Diane Bursley and Ken Wilcome (Lisa Curtiss) as well as her grandchildren, Chris (Kevin) Miller, Jenny (Nolan) Vick, Kirsten (Sean) Davy, Trevor (Rosie) Boone, Mike (Kathy) Bursley, Rob (Jen) Bursley, and many great-grandchildren.

Peggy was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Fred and Violet Veit. She attended Mount Mercy Academy, and after graduation she settled down and began raising a family. After her children were grown, Peggy went to work at H.B. Shaine & Co. Brokerage Firm, where she worked in the accounting department until the Stock Market crash of 1987. She then packed up and went to work at Meijer, then onto Phil Brown Welding in Conklin until it was time to retire.

Peggy loved spending time with her friends and family just hanging out. She was very passionate about NASCAR, Detroit Tigers baseball, Detroit Lions football, Notre Dame football and even horse racing. She enjoyed going shopping and out to lunch with her girlfriends, attending Christmas concerts and sport(s) parties.

Cremation has taken place, and a time of visiting and sharing memories with the family will held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes Alt and Shawmut Hills Chapel, located at 2120 Lake Michigan Drive, N.W., Grand Rapids, Michigan 49504.
