GRANZOTTO – Mrs. Margaret Ruth (Peg) Granzotto, age 94, met our Lord on Sunday, May 29, 2022 while in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Peg was born in Medford, MA to Frederick and Ruth Donaher on January 22, 1928. Her family settled in the Detroit area where she graduated from Redford High School and Marygrove College with a degree in Medical Technology. Peg married the love of her life, James F. (Jim) Granzotto, in 1953 and together they raised 6 children. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, of over 58 years, son Paul, grandson Anthony and siblings Jane Haessly and Frederick Donaher.

Her Catholic faith was deep and abiding, and sustained her all through her life. As a faithful disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, she enriched the lives of everyone who crossed her path.

She found great joy volunteering within her Church, especially with the Consolata Missionary Sisters. Peg cherished her family and the time she spent with them. Throughout her life, she enjoyed vacationing, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, bingo and painting.

Peg is survived by her sons, James (Joanne) of Holland and John (Kim) of Rockford; daughters, Margaret (Patrick) Kovach of Schoolcraft, Marie (Fred) Kegel of Grand Rapids, and Jane (Jim) Braun of Ada; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 11 am at Holy Spirit Parish, (2230 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504), with Rev. Mark Peacock officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the Mass on Tuesday at the church beginning at 10 am.

Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Peg’s memory can be made to the Consolata Missionary Sisters, (6801 Belmont Ave. NE, P.O. Box 371, Belmont, MI 49306-0371).
