Norma Ellen Boom (Vogt) aged 84, beloved wife of Raymond, went to be with him on April 15,2006. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Eugene Vogt; and a son in law, Gregg Stiles. Surviving are her children, Raymond T. and Mary Ann Boom, Nancy Ellen Stiles, Richard Boom and William and Lisa Boom; grandchildren, Danya and Joshua VanderLugt, Michael Boom, Brian and Becky Stiles, Jennifer and Scott DeMorrow, Katie Stiles, Raymond Benedikt Boom, Nathan and Steven Boom; great-grandchildren, Jack, Eliana, James, Ethan,TyIer and Luke; brothers, Joseph (Dorothy) Vogt, Richard Vogt and Ronald (Joan) Vogt; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Munch, Patricia Vogt, and Betty Vogt. Norma so enjoyed her world travels with her husband of 63 years. Legal secretary by profession, she volunteered for years in the Cora Barber Guild at Butterworth Hospital as a "pink lady" She was also active in the Women's Resource Center, Women's City Club and the World Affairs Council. An avid tennis player and a patron of the Grand Rapids Symphony. Norma was lovingly known to her family and friends as "Corvette Grandma" and will be forever cherished and remembered in our hearts as the lovely, kind and compassionate women she was. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Mayflower Congregational Church (2345 Robinson Rd. SE) with Dr. Mark Barger Elliott officiating. Her family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday at church from 2 to 3 p.m. before the service.
