"Peace out, Bro" Nicholas Paul Szymanski, age 16, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, October 1, 2006. Nick was born November 1, 1989 in Werl, Germany the son of Michael and Michelle (Wegener) Szymanski. Nick's strong faith directed him to Calvary Assembly of God where his second family in Christ began. Nick's love for others and his tremendous passion for the drums brought him to the Youth Ministries, where he not only shared his many gifts and talents but gave a true testimony that led others to the Lord. Nick was a Junior at Comstock Park High School where he had attended the last two years. Prior to that, he attended Tri-County Schools. Surviving are his parents, Michelle Szymanski of Comstock Park, Michael and Penny Szymanski of Grand Haven; three sisters, Jessica and Joseph Farrington of Casnovia, Stepanie and Rachel both of Comstock Park; grandparents, Guy and Kathy Wegener of Rockford, Leonard and Delores Szymanski of Midland; great-grandparents, Lois Malone of Burt and Oscar Wegener of Auburn; many other immediate family members. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com. The funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 810 - 17 Mile Road, Cedar Springs. Pastor Joel Baxter officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Assembly of God Building Fund. The truth is, this is an obituary. We could write a whole book and it would not even begin to tell what kind of a son, brother, friend, and mentor he was. He's home. Bliss Witters Pike Funeral Home
