Nancy Irene (Proctor) Paauwe, of North Muskegon and Grand Rapids, surrounded by her family, put on her heavenly wings and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 29, 2006. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. She touched many lives with her thoughtful actions and compassion. She had a passion for her garden, reading, knowledge and education. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Gerald; children, Jerry and Nancy Jo Paauwe, Brenda and Dr. Larry Pawl, Heather Paauwe and Motoyuki Otsuka, Craig Paauwe, April Donaker, and Mark Donaker; grandchildren, Amber (Matt) Gowen, Amy Paauwe, Luke Vredeveld, Jared Vredeveld, Craig Paauwe, Tessa Paauwe, Amanda Donaker, Katrina Donaker, Mark Donaker, Nicole Harnack, Tom Harnack, Andrew Pawl and Sarah Pawl; sisters, Patricia Renner, Norma (Dr. Lloyd) Dausman, Peggy Ann Moore and Joline McCarty; brothers-in-law, Martin (Ann) Paauwe, Neil Vander Maas and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, 12:30 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 224 Carrier N.E. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, where the Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School or Eastern Elementary Children's Fund.
