Mike Oom

Michael Jon Oom, age 74, passed away at Butterworth Hospital on April 27, 2024. Mike was born July 19, 1949 in Grand Rapids to the late Arthur and Celeste (Tappan) Oom. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Oom. Mike is survived by his sisters, Judy Marcellus and Robin Nichols; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Willobee. Mike enjoyed a fulfilling career in attendance administration with Grand Rapids Public Schools. In his younger years, he really enjoyed nice cars and convertibles and a well manicured lawn, but in recent years it was spending time with his best friend, Willobee and his neighbors.
