Mrs. Maxine F. Hammond (nee Bladey), aged 76, of Grand Rapids went to be with the Lord Sunday November 26, 2006. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Melvin; her children, Frances Mary (Loren) Godfrey, Steven (Jocelyn) Hammond, Frank (Carol) Hammond; grandchildren, Angela (Kurt) Orosz, Carie Hammond, Steven (Kirsten) Hammond II, Laura Hammond, Sara Godfrey, Candace Godfrey, Katie, David and Abbie Hammond; great grandchildren Kora, Tad and Ella Orosz, Haile Rose and Michael Cederquist; sisters Barbara F. King and Patricia (Guy) Estep; brother Michael (Judy) Sanders. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances E. Sanders (Bolek); father, Anthony Biadasiewicz Jr.; step-father, Steve S. Sanders and great grandson, Gabriel Charles Orosz. Maxine was a member of Basilica of St. Adalbert and Ladies Rosary Society. Also a former employee of Rose Patch and Wolverine Brass. She was active in the ACTWU Local #748 serving as chief steward from 1979-1988. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Basilica of St. Adalbert. She will repose in church one hour prior to Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arsulowicz Brothers Mortuary, Remembrance Chapel 3525 Remembrance Rd, where a Rosary Service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions to Basilica of St. Adalbert "Restore the Glory" or St. Jude's Children's Hospital will be appreciated.
