Age 93, passed away November 18, 2022. Mary was born August 25, 1929 in Grand Rapids to the late Peter and Gertrude (Feenstra) Vogel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Peter Ray Rinzema; sons, David Lee Rinzema and Arnold John Rinzema II; grandson, Arnold Rinzema III; and sister, Ruth and Ken Hann. Mary was kind and generous. She married the love of her life, Ray after World War ll, she was so proud of her navy seal diver. Together they raised two sons David and Arnie and their family journey began. They enjoyed bowling and being members of the Newaygo VFW. Mary loved being a grandmother more than anything else in her life and she shared her love for the beach, hunting for pretty rocks, and was always fun, playful and doted on her grandchildren. She was thoughtful to make each relationship special. At grandma's house you would find your special treats and snacks that each grandchild loved. She taught us girls how to do their hair and makeup and shared her beauty secrets with us. Her grandsons she taught them how to fish and catch frogs. She would read old nursery rhymes and play games with us too. She gave us all, the love for U of M football .Taught us all how to swim, we are all water babies because of her. She was the confidant and encourager each one of us needed. We for many of our early years got to spend every Christmas Eve at grandma and grandpa's house until her and grandpa in the later years left us to be snowbirds in Florida in the cold months. They loved the ocean there. She poured her heart and love into her family. She will be forever in our hearts and we will cherish the memories of the life she had here with us all. She had deep faith of God and we know she is now resting in the arms of our loving savior, with her Love and precious sons in Heaven she will be greatly missed by our family she was a one of a kind treasure to all of us.
