Mary Jo Fleming

Mary Jo (Morrison) Fleming age 69, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Oct 28, 2024. She was preceded in death by her foster mom, Mary Cook; and brother, Tom Swanson. Mary is survived by her husband of 39 years, Douglas Fleming; sons, Jason (Lissa) Morrison, Kevin Morrison and Daniel Fleming; and grandson, Cayden Morrison. Mary ran a day care in her home for many years and then fostered children through St. John’s Home for over 20 years. She was well known and loved in the Creston Neighborhood where they lived. A visitation will be held on Wednesday November 6, 2024 from 2-5 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home - Van Strien Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield Ave NE. A celebration of life will also be held later at Quinn and Tuites Irish pub from 6p-8p, 1535 Plainfield Ave NE. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Autism Society of Kent Co.
