Mary E. Haagen, age 101, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully while in the comfort of her daughter’s home and the company of her family on Monday, November 11, 2024.

She was born in Burrville, Tennessee in the spring of 1923 to the late George F. and Josie [Ryon] Galloway.

Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles H. Haagen as well as by her brothers Victor, Samuel, John and George Donley Galloway.

Mary is survived by her daughter Terri (Steve) Miling, her grandchildren, Trevor (Elizabeth) Miling and Leighann (Tony) Rheeder and great-grandchildren Charlotte and Ila.

Mary’s funeral, followed by a reception, will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Van Strien Chapel, (1833 Plainfield Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). Friends may visit with her family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Mary’s memory to the charity of your choice.

Mary will be laid to rest next to Charles in Fairplains Cemetery in a private internment.
