Age 88, at rest and finally home, passed away February 20, 2019. Marvin was born in Grand Rapids August 3, 1930 to the late Cornelius & Jennie (Slotema) Gerritsen. He attended Grand Rapids Christian Schools and was a longtime member of New Community Church. Marvin will be remembered as a skilled finish carpenter and his care for his yard. He is survived by his his wife of 63 years, Verna; children, Kristi Gerritsen of Grand Rapids, John (Renee) Gerritsen of Golden, CO; granddaughters, Meghan & Madelynn; sisters, Lois (Henry) Vandermeer and Marian Sytsma both of Grand Rapids. Marvin was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Robert Gerritsen. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 25 at 1 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 1833 Plainfield Ave NE. Friends may visit with family beginning at Noon. Interment will be in Fairplains Cemetery.
