Harry Marten Knoop “Marty”, age 78, of Ada, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Corewell Health – Butterworth Hospital while in the presence of his family.
Marty was born in Grand Rapids, MI in the summer of 1946 to the late Jacob and Hazel Anna [Wilson] Knoop.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Richard Knoop and his sister Betty Ann Fulwiler.
Marty is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Lynne [Martini] and their children, Carl Scott (Ellen) Knoop, Todd Allan (Karen) Knoop, KrisAnn Lynn (James) Ladner and Brett Martin (Serena) Knoop. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Ross, Kelsey, Adam, Abbie, Grayden and Parker.
He had proudly served in the United States Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam.
Marty will be laid to rest with Military Honors during a private Graveside Service in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery in Cascade Township, MI.
