Martina Feyter

Martina Feyter, age 92 of Grand Rapids, MI passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. She was born in 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late John and Cornelia [Sporte] Kamp. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Henry Spaans and second husband George Feyter. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Jane DeMeester, Helen Kamp, Ada Bloem and brothers John and Peter Kamp. Martina is survived by her children, Ben (Sheryl) Spaans, Jerald Spaans, Sharon Spaans, Carolyn Spaans (Doug Townsend) and Dirk (Kristi) Spaans; Grandchildren Lindsay (Chris) Leahy, Alan (Karli) Spaans, Joel Spaans, Elizabeth (Andy) Coday, Shawn (Lori) Blom, Aric (Heidi) Blom, Jesse (Amber) Blom, Trey Townsend, Tiana Townsend, Brooke Spaans, Jordan (Hope) Spaans and Jason Spaans (Annemieke Engelsma) as well as by 14 great grandchildren and her siblings Gertrude Westrate, Dick Kamp and Henry (Lena) Kamp and many nieces and nephews. Martina’s funeral service will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11 AM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home-Van Strien Creston Chapel (1833 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). Friends may visit with family prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Martina will be laid to rest next to Henry in Graceland Cemetery, Corsica, South Dakota.
