Mrs. Marilyn H. Van Portfliet, aged 89 of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away Tuesday October 5, 2021 and went to be with her Lord. She was born in the spring of 1932 to the late John and Margaret Quist. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, C. Thomas (Tom) Van Portfliet as well as by her brother Norman Quist. Surviving are her children, David and Beth Van Portfliet, Mary and Scott Visser, Lisa and Jeff DeMaat, her grandchildren, Justin Van Portfliet, Troy Van Portfliet, Tara (Jordan) Klein, Tanner Visser, Jordan DeMaat and Amber DeMaat and her two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Charlotte and her nieces and nephews. Marilyn loved her grandchildren and her and Tom were the greatest loving grandparents. Marilyn was a lifetime member of 7th Reformed Church. Marilyn was laid to rest next to Tom during a private Graveside Service at Rosedale Memorial Park.
