Marguerite Murray

Marguerite (Marcey) Murray, passed away January 1, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lew Ed Murray Jr.; brothers-in-law, Don (Odene) Murray and Walt Wilson; sisters-in-law, Betty Murray and Betty Thomas; children, David (Janis) Murray and Louann Prus; grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Prus, Nathan (Angela) Murray, Keith Murray, Sara Murray, Autumn Embury, and Mandy (Joe) Maitland; great-grandchildren, Kendell, Jordyn, Julie, Nathan, Madilynn, and Keagen; several nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends. After getting her college degree in Texas, she worked for 1 year as a high school teacher and then got a traveling job at Macy's. It was through this travel that she met Lew in Oklahoma, and they married November 2, 1946. They remained devoted to each other throughout their many years together. She resumed work as a substitute teacher within the Grand Rapids Public School system, but her greater enjoyment was finishing her teaching career at the Second Congregation Church Pre-School. Her other talent, which perhaps had greater impact, was her ability to listen with complete acceptance and love. She was ever an optimist and truly an uplifting person. She was a stabilizing influence to our family and her many friends. She will be sorely missed and remembered with great fondness. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, January 5, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2740 Fuller Ave. NE at 3 Mile Rd. Friends and relatives may greet the family on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE at 3 Mile Rd and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
