Louis Carlson, age 89, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully in his home on March 20, 2022. He is now reunited in Heaven with Betty (Mead) his wife of 64 years. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Louis was born on June 3, 1932, in Grand Rapids to the late F. Clarence and Mabel Carlson.

Together Louis and Betty were long time members of Grand Valley Baptist Church.

Louis worked on the family farm when he was young and then in the concrete business eventually as a co-owner of Grand Valley Redi Mix.

After retiring Louis enjoyed working on his property taking care of his lawn, garden, and fruit trees. He was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. He and Betty traveled annually to Florida to take in a few spring training games.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Gregg (Pamela) Carlson, Gary (Kathy) Carlson, Cathy (David) Zokoe, Connie (Steve) Guppy, eight grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

He is survived by his sisters Carol Damon, Barbara Fritz, Mabel (Steve) Grifhorst. He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence, sister in-laws: Mary, Beverly, and Norma.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 11 AM at Rosedale Memorial Park. 50 Lake Michigan Drive NW.
