Linda Schichtel

Linda Ann Schichtel, age 85, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. Linda was born December 11, 1940 in Grand Rapids, to the late John and Martha (Sabaitis) Stacilauskas. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Schichtel and her sister and brother-in-law, Diana & Michael Mandziuk. Linda received her BA in Education from Aquinas College and taught middle school language arts at Grandville Public Schools. She loved to read, play golf and volunteer her services in prison ministry and as a Eucharist Minister at the Women’s Resource Center. Linda is survived by her sons, Dennis (Donna Mobilia) Schichtel and Stacey Schichtel; grandchildren, Lindsay (Andrew) Israels, Luke (Sofia Lesica) Schichtel, Cameron Schichtel; and great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Blaine. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald (Kay) Stacilauskas; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday April 29, 2026 at 11 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2230 Lake Michigan Dr NW. Friends may visit with her family on Tuesday April 28th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Dr NW and beginning at 10 AM at church on Thursday. Interment will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
