Mr. Kenneth R. Reyers, aged 87, of Walker, MI, was called home to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Ken was born in the spring of 1936 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Henry and Adriana Reyers and lived in Grand Rapids/Walker, MI all his life. Along with his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his brother Ronald Reyers and his nephew Thomas Willard. Ken is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Ann [Boss] and their three children, Kenneth Jr. (Elizabeth) Reyers, James (Michelle) Reyers and Lori (special friend Ray Clay) Reyers. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brandon, Kourtney and Kendall Reyers and Andy (Meika) and Brad VanBennekom as well as his siblings, Betty Kelley, Mary Hoogewind, sister-in-law Sue Reyers, and many nieces and nephews. Ken was a long-time business owner in the Walker area, operating the Leonard Heights Garage and working there until his retirement. He proudly served in the United States Army and public Military Honors will be performed by the Kent County Military Honor Guard at 6 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids MI 49504). A celebration of Ken’s life will follow until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods, (8214 Pfeiffer Farms Dr SW, Byron Center, MI 49315).
