Joyce P. S. Mast, age 94 of Grand Rapids, passed away December 4, 2020. She was born in the Netherlands in 1926 and immigrated to the United States as a young woman. Joyce was devoted to her Heritage Reformed church family and was much loved by those around her in Rest Haven Home. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a nurse. Joyce will be remembered and admired for her fierce independence, strong convictions and her ability to make long lasting relationships with many friends throughout the world. She was particularly fond of animals and loved feeding and caring for them. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents John and Jozina [Kastelein]; her siblings, Marian Bak, Sybil Mast, Andy Mast, Dan Mast, John Mast, Gerald Mast, Adrian Mast, Harry Mast, Jan Thompson. She is survived by her sisters Babs (O'Neil) Croft and Ann (Pete) Kazmier and sisters-in-laws Louise Mast, Jane Mast, Ruth Mast, Joan Mast, Patti Williams and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11 AM in the chapel at Heritage Reformed Congregation, (540 Crescent Street NE Grand Rapids, MI 49503) with Dr. Joel Beeke and Dr. Maarten Kuivenhoven officiating. Friends are invited to visit with her family for one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Washington Park Memorial Gardens.
