Joseph John Weronko Jr, age 95 of Grand Rapids, passed away in his home on June 17, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Weronko; son, Richard Weronko; daughter, Janis Halloran-Dahl; sons-in-law, Matthew Halloran and Dr. Bernhoff Dahl; and siblings, Edward (Leona) Weronko, Maryanne (Louis) Reus, Helen (Carl) Skinner, Charles Weronko, Chester (Dorothy) Weronko, Harry (Celia) Weronko and John (Helen) Weronko. Joe is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his caregiver and friend, Susan Shepard Miller. Joe, along with his wife, Mary, were dedicated members of the Parish of the Holy Spirit where he served as an usher. He worked at Glendon A. Richards Company for over 20 years, and retired from the State of Michigan as the Director of Education for sheet metal apprentices. Joe served in the US Navy during World War II, then was a member of the American Legion Post #356 and attended Honor Flight. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11 AM at Parish of the Holy Spirit, 2230 Lake Michigan Dr. NW. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday from 6-8 PM, concluding with the Rosary, at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home – Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW.
