Mr. Joseph R. Jost age 89, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 30, 2019. He was a hardworking carpenter who built many homes on the West Side of Grand Rapids, loving Husband, good friend to all and was always willing to help them when needed. Always had a joke to tell. Joe served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Arlene. He will loving be remembered and missed by his children: Debra and Don O'Brien, Cheri and Chuck Zokoe , Terry and Amy Jost, Nancy and Scott Disselkoen; Grandchildren: Brian and Kayla Stroven, Amy and Jeff Johnston, Matt and Anna Zokoe, Nate and Cara Zokoe, Ashley and Eric Dykema, Kyle Jost, Leah Jost, Megan and Drew Wyngarden, Jessica and Andy Reidsma, Brad Disselkoen (Brittany Brinks); 14 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Verlee Haisma, Karen Haisma, Karen and Wayne Balder and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at his church, Westview Christian Reformed Church, 2929 Leonard St. NW. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 PM on Wednesday at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW and on Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
