Joseph (Adam) Borek, aged 76, of Caledonia, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, December 21, 2005. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ruth (Edgerle); children, Bob (Marty) Borek, Kathy (Chris) Choryan, Margaret (Tom) La Huis, Rick (Sarah) Borek of Georgia, Mike (Tina) Borek of Lansing, Scott Borek; 15 grandchilren; three great-grandchildren, a brother, Gene (Marie) Borek; two sisters-in-law, Flo Borek and Jean Edgerle and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Borek was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernie, George and Vic. he was an employee of Rapistan for 38 years and president of Local UAW 1485. He was a member of Holy Name Parish for 46 years and founder of the Boosters Club and Cub Scouts at the church, an usher and also a member of the Holy Name Society. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 24 at 10 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW with Reverend Loc Trinh presiding. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:30 PM and the family will meet with friends and relatives Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo SE and Saturday, 9 to 10 AM before Mass at the church
