John Townshend

John Townshend, aged 83, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 13, 2006 after a long and faith filled life. He will now once again join his wife and the love of his life Irene. John will be lovingly remembered by his children; John (Sandra) Townshend, Susanne (Rich) Trang, Richard (Camille) Townshend, Nancy (Neil) Haack, Gary (Catherine) Townshend, Julie (Raymond) Jaglowski, Joseph (Karen) Townshend, Robert (Patricia) Townshend, Michelle (Adam) Burnett, Steven (Alice) Townshend, Patrick (Mary) Townshend; 34 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Along with his strong commitment and feelings towards his family, John was a strong supporter and volunteered in many capacities at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and St. Ann's Home for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 AM Monday, April 17, 2006 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church 224 Carrier St. NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505 with Rev. Richard Quinn as celebrant. Friends and relatives may meet the family at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Visitation will be offered one hour prior to the service at St Alphonsus. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Wyoming MI.
