Scholtens, John Adrian

John Adrian Scholtens, age 96 of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on April 8, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Scholtens; brother Jake Scholtens; sisters, Janette Andre and Bernice Rinzema. John is survived by his sister Ruth (John) Ymker; children Ray & Suzanne Scholtens, Rich & Linda Scholtens, Jack & Debra Scholtens, Lynn Vogt; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. John served his country during WWII as part of the 70th Division of the US Army. His avid love of God’s creation, music and flying created many friendships which brought him and others much joy. He was a ministry to many through these activities.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 12 Noon at Grace Immanuel Reformed Baptist Church, 860 Peachcrest Ct. NE in Grand Rapids where friends are invited to visit with his family beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment in Fairplains Cemetery. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to either Faith Hospice of Trillium Woods or Grace Immanuel Reformed Baptist Church.
