Mr. John "Jack" Denner, aged 77, of Kentwood, passed away Thanksgiving Day due to heart failure. Surviving are his five precious children, Colleen Schroeder (Eric), Donna Brown (Larry), Maureen Denner and special friend, Judy Hartog, Dawn Bekkering (Tim), Greg Denner (Cindy); eight grandchildren, Andrea, Ryan, Eric, Darren, Holly, Mitchel, Jackson, Claire; one great-granddaughter, Kayla; sister, Elly Guedry; sister-in-law, Mary Allman; brother-in-law, Jack Quick (Marilyn) and a special friend, Dee Godisak. Jack was preceded in death by his lovely wife, sister, Barbara Denner and his brother, George Jr. Jack was born on November 3, 1929 to Mary Herp and George Denner. He attended Catholic Central High School where he graduated from in 1947 and also attended Michigan State University. He then joined the US Air Force and spent 3 years in the South China Sea during the Korean War. He was an assistant golf professional at Indian Trails. Jack married his beautiful bride, Patricia on Thanksgiving Day in 1955. He retired from Ackerman Electric in 1992 and was a life member of VFW Post 830. For close to 50 years he attended St. Mary Magdalen Church. Jack was a very special man who was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply and sadly missed by all. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1213 - 52nd St. SE at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28 with Rev. Phong Pham as celebrant. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
