Jeff Lampani loved sports, especially Michigan football (Go Blue!). What he loved best, however, and what was of utmost importance in his life, was his beloved family. Jeff was a loving and dedicated father, son, uncle, and nephew, and a friend to all who knew him; he was deeply loved, and will be deeply missed.

Proud parents Gerard P. and Mary Ann (Gryczanoski) Lampani welcomed their son, Jeffrey Phillip, into the world on April 10, 1965. The Lampani family lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Jeff grew up with siblings Tamara, Christine, and Marcia. As a boy, Jeff loved sports, and could often be spotted playing football with his friends.

After graduating from Union High School in 1983, Jeff went on to serve his country by joining the U.S. Army. He served honorably in Germany for two years, and then spent an additional four years in the reserves. Back home in the states, Jeff furthered his education by taking computer classes at Davenport College. He found a job at Van’s Sports Center, where he would do computer work and develop inventory programs for the next seventeen years.

Jeff met his future wife, Cynthia Rosloniec, while he was getting a haircut (they happened to have the same stylist). Jeff and Cynthia hit it off right away, and were married a year later at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. As the years went by, they were blessed with two children: Joshua and Olivia. As Jeff would be the first to say, “being a father was the best thing that ever happened to him.” From coaching his son’s little league team to attending his daughter’s dance recitals, Jeff was always there for his kids when they needed him. His kids were his life, and Jeff was extremely proud to be their father.

Mr. Jeffrey P. Lampani passed away on June 4, 2013, at the age of 48. Jeff’s family includes his children, Joshua and Olivia Lampani; his wife, Cynthia; his parents, Gerard and Mary Lampani; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Tamara and Don McNabb, Chris and Jim Pelton, and Marcia (Lampani) Jackson; his nieces and nephews, Dennis, Jennifer (Pam Albrough) and Jessica Allen, Nathan McNabb, Matthew, Nicholas, Bradley and Derek Pelton, and Arielle and Benjamin Jackson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 733 Bridge St. NW on Friday, June 14 at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet his family at the church on Friday from 12 noon until the service begins at 1 p.m. Burial with military honors will be at Resurrection Cemetery. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers please consider contributions in Jeff’s memory to The Jeffrey Lampani Children’s Education Fund c/o any Lake Michigan Credit Union. Please visit Jeff’s personal memory page at www.lifestorynet.com, where you can learn more about his life, share a favorite memory or photo, and sign the online guestbook.
