Janice Kay Roys age 82, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 while in the company of her family.

She was born in Grand Rapids, to the late Walter and Helen [Schrauwen] Glovick in March of 1942.

Along with her parents Janice was preceded in death by her infant daughter Mary as well as by her brother Richard Glovick.

Surviving are her daughter Lori (Don) Murphy and son Mark (Diane) Roys; grandchildren Kayleigh (David) Sanders, Brendon (Victoria) Murphy and Krysta (Jason) Deeb; great-grandchildren Reagan, Walker, Kenadie, Charlotte, Jason Jr. and Violet.

Janice is also survived by her sister Kathleen Glovick and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janice was a 1960 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids and had been and active member of both Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was a member of the Third Order of Carmel. She enjoyed a 30 year career working for the Federal Government in both the Bankruptcy Court and Trustee office. Janice will be remembered as an enthusiastic baker who loved cooking, the beach, gardening and for her fondness for animals and her pets.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, (2230 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).

Friends may visit with her family on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 4-7 PM, (Rosary reading at 6:30), at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home – Alt Shawmut Chapel, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504) as well as at church prior to the funeral mass beginning at 10:00 AM.

Janice will be laid to rest near family in Resurrection Cemetery.
