Surviving are his beloved wife and partner of 39 years, Tammy; his children, Kimberly (Kurt) Minko and Amy (David) Gootjes; six grandchildren, Kathy, Kennedy, Konnor and Kelsey Minko and Haley and Collin Gootjes; his sisters, Rosemary Zant and Maureen (Pat) Maher; his sister-in-law, Colleen Hickman; his aunt, Rosemary Whalen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous dear friends. Jim served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Jim was a retiree of Steelcase with 36 years of service. He was a member of the planning boards of St. Ann's Nursing Home and St. Mary Magdalen Parish. He had been involved in the United Way, was named a Fellow in the International Facilities Managers Association and was on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Healing Racism in Muskegon. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Monday 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1213 52nd Street SE, Rev. Phong Pham, presiding.
