vMr. James M. Hickey, aged 66, was born of James J. and Rosella Hickey on November 15 1939 and died November 30, 2005. Surviving are his beloved wife and partner of 39 years, Tammy; his children, Kimberly (Kurt) Minko and Amy (David) Gootjes; six grandchildren, Kathy, Kennedy, Konnor and Kelsey Minko and Haley and Collin Gootjes; his sisters, Rosemary Zant and Maureen (Pat) Maher; his sister-in-law, Colleen Hickman; his aunt, Rosemary Whalen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous dear friends. Jim served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Jim was a retiree of Steelcase with 36 years of service. He was a member of the planning boards of St. Ann's Nursing Home and St. Mary Magdalen Parish. He had been involved in the United Way, was named a Fellow in the International Facilities Managers Association and was on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Healing Racism in Muskegon. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Monday 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1213 52nd Street SE, Rev. Phong Pham, presiding.
