aged 88, of Cannonsburg passed away on October 16, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara. Jim is survived by his children, Christine (Joel) Kuipers, Leslie (Dennis) Chase, Anthony (Laurie) Canda, Timothy Canda, Thomas (Holly) Canda, and Jamie (Steve) Vachon; grandchildren, Amber (Ben), Tara (Sean), Karly, David, Kelly (Andrew), Anthony, Patty (Brandon), Jimi (Tammy), Amy (Mike), Emily (Ryan), Justin, Samara (Scott), Samuel, Skylar, Andrew (Kyleigh), Sydney, Taylor, and grandpa’s favorite, Jack; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Duda; brother-in-law, William (Doris) Berrevoets; and several nieces and nephews. Jim was a graduate of Catholic Central and a US. Army veteran. He retired from Corduroy Rubber/Paulstra Co. Jim and Barb loved camping and fishing, they had big family dinners every Sunday, attended every grandchild’s events from football to band to horse shows. Jim loved dachshunds, gardening, making bread and wine. He loved to read and play cards but most of all he loved his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at St. Patrick of Parnell Catholic Church, 4351 Parnell NE. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Tuesday (masks and social distancing required) from 6-8 PM, with a Rosary at 7:30 PM, at Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes, 1833 Plainfield NE.
