Life Story / Obituary

James R. Bouwer passed into Glory on June 19, 2025, at the age of ninety. Jim was extremely thankful for the many blessings God provided to him throughout his life. Those blessings were especially his family that survive him, his wife Janet, daughters Kathy Burggraaf, MaryEllen and Rick Berthiaume, Sue and Marc Wibalda; fourteen grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his son-in-law Bob Burggraaf. Family and friends may meet with Jim’s family from 1:30 PM until the time of the service at 2:30 on Tuesday June 24th at Rest Haven Homes, 1424 Union Avenue NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan with interment in Fairplains Cemetery. Jim's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rest Haven Homes and Faith Hospice.
