Jacqueline Messing

Jacqueline J. Messing (Buskard) Born July 7, 1937, Passed January 9, 2026.

"Death is swallowed up in victory. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." I Cor. 15:54,57

Jackie started working at age 15 in a dime store in Grand Rapids and then in Wurzburgs in different areas. At age 17 she got a job at American Motors-Kelvinator, working different departments for 31 1/2 years until the plant closed in 1987. Later, while working a part time job, her husband, Jack, wrote her a note every day and put it with her lunch. He was a romantic and did many things to prove it and his love to Jackie. God blessed Jackie with the best husband and she was anxious to join him in heaven.

The day that changed Jackie's life was when she was 17 years old and accepted the Lord as her Savior. Jackie's words "I have often failed him but he has never failed me."

Jackie has been a member of Standale Baptist Church since 1969 and enjoyed being in the choir, Ladies Missionary Group and other ministries.

Jackie suffered with a rare lung condition and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and has been on oxygen for many years.

Jackie entered her heavenly home on January 9, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, John (Jack) Messing. Also preceding her were her parents, Gilbert and Josephine Buskard; sister Elizabeth (Beth) and husband Roger Buffum; brothers, Vern and Barbara, Tom, and Dave Buskard, brother-in-law, Leonard Waller; nephews Cal Dart and Tim Hoebeke; stepdaughters, Carole Simington and Patricia Messing; stepson, Stephan Messing.

Jackie is survived by her sister, Esther Waller; sisters-in-law: Josie Buskard, Barbara Buskard, Iva Lane Robinson, Katie and Mike Cuncannan; stepchildren, Tony and Sue Messing; grandchildren: Riane Messing, Dawn and Tom Spaanstra, Ashley and Mark Ward, Brandon Messing; special nieces and nephews, special friends, Yolanda Posadas, Betzaly, Vanaya and David Cordera.

Services for Jackie will be Saturday,January 17, 2026 at 11am at Standale Baptist Church, with the visitation from 10:00 - 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jackie's memory to Standale Baptist Church or Rest Haven Homes.
