Helen F. Wagenvelt

Helen Faye Wagenvelt, age 88, went to be with her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Helen was born in the summer of 1935 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late David and Louise Smith.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Paula Smith and Marsha Lee Curtis.

Helen is survived by her children, Craig (Sue) Wagenvelt, Kimberly (Norman) Streeter and Kevin (Alice) Wagenvelt; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

She was a 1953, graduate of South High School in Grand Rapids. She maintained many close and life-long relationships with friends from High School.

Helen worked for many years in the restaurant industry, primarily for Duck's Restaurant on Michigan Street in downtown Grand Rapids.

She and her family have fond memories of the time spent at the cottage on Cobb Lake in Barry County were Helen hosted many holiday parties and golf events!

Helen’s family will meet with friends on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 11 AM -12 Noon, at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Alt and Shawmut Hills Chapel, (2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504). Her funeral service will follow beginning at 12 Noon.

Helen will be laid to rest near family in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI.
