(Sparta) Mr. Gerald "Jack" Melvin Grooters, Sr., was called home to join his son, Bruce M. Grooters; brothers, Ralph and Charles Grooters Monday, May 1, 2006. Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Clark) of 60 years; children, Stephen G. (Pam Lavish) Grooters, Sr., Susan M. (Britton I) Latham, Gerald "Jerry" M. Grooters, Jr., Hollis M. (Robert) Leach; daughter-in-law, Diane Grooters; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Adelaide (David) Gleason, Lois McDonald; sister-in-law, Patricia (Donald) Williams; many nieces and nephews. Jack will be remembered for being part owner of Grooters Machine Shop, with his brothers. He was also the founder of Bo-Jac, Inc., Jackson's Ind. Mfg. Inc. of Wyoming and also a WWII Navy veteran, a member of the Elks Lodge, the American Legion Post 225 and the Wyoming Chamber of Commerce. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 at the Sparta Church of the Nazarene, 665 - 13 Mile Rd. NW. Jack's family will greet relatives and friends Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE. Interment Idlewild Cemetery.
