Eugene Elmo Guiher, age 77, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 17, 2019. Gene was born in Coshocton, OH in 1942 to the late David and Evelyn Guiher. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna E. [Brown] and their children, Edward (Mary) of Grand Rapids, Randy (Wendy) of Byron Center, Lisa (Steve) White of Grand Rapids and Linda Guiher of Allendale; grandson Nicholas and many stepgrandchildren as well as by his 5 siblings. Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his grandson Edward Jr. and brother James F. Guiher. He was a dedicated employee of MTS Transportation and a longtime member of New Community Church. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Lew VanderMeer, will be held Thursday, March 21 at 11:00 AM at New Community Church, (2340 Dean Lake Ave., Grand Rapids, MI 49505). Visitation will take place at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504) on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 4-7 PM as well as for one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday. Entombment will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to either New Community Church or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. www.lifestorynet.com
