Esther Dykstra

Esther Ruth (Boluyt) Dykstra, age 91 of Grand Rapids, passed away September 16, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dykstra; parents, William and Anna (DeGraaf) Boluyt; son, John Dykstra; son-in-law, Robert Snyder; and her 9 sisters and 5 brothers. Esther is survived by her children, Debora (Richard) Sweeney, Charles (Terri) Dykstra, Barb Snyder, William Dykstra, Timothy Dykstra; grandchildren, Jaime (John) Koval, Jason Morton, Janel (Alex) Hoffmann, Jacob (Alaina) Dykstra, Anthony Snyder, Christofer Snyder, Derek Snyder, Shian Dykstra, Rebekah Dykstra, Hannah Dykstra, Timothy Dykstra II, Tyler Dykstra, Emma Dykstra, Joshua Dykstra; and great grandchildren, Stella, Jett, Isabelle, Elowyn “Winnie”, April, Dorian, Elleana, Faith and Hope. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Paul Kooyers; sister-in-law, Liz Boluyt; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Agnes Fish, Marilyn DeMaagd, and Mary Bazen. The funeral service for Mrs. Dykstra will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 10am at First Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 1261 Beckwith Ave NE. Friends may visit with her family on Monday from 6-8pm at Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes, Van Strien-Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield Ave NE. Interment will be in Fairplains Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donors choice.
