Edith Sommer, aged 53 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Thursday morning, December 6, 2018. She is survived by her parents, Jules and Connie Sommer; her siblings, Louise (Ray VanVelsen) Sommer, Mark (Mary Ann) Sommer, Nancy (John) Collins; niece, Jan (Eric) Kosters; nephew, Dustin Sommer; great nephews, and many friends. Edith graduated from Catholic Central High School, class of 1983. She earned her degree from Michigan State University. She worked as a Teachers Aid with the Grand Rapids Public Schools. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 12 at 2:00 pm in St. Ambrose Chapel at the Cathedral of St. Andrew, 301 Sheldon Ave. SE. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
