Duane Sheets

SHEETS Duane F. Sheets, aged 81 of Coopersville, MI, passed away on Saturday April 19, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Esther Sheets, his sister, Lila (Arnie) Connelly and his great grandchild, Gibson Sheets. He is survived by his children, Steven (Kathleen) Sheets of Bremerton, WA, JoEllen Ptak of Seattle, WA, Bonnie (Larry) Singer of New York, NY, Tim (Kim) Sheets of Coopersville, Tom (Jean) Sheets of Jenison, MI; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; his former wife, Dorothy Joanne Sheets of Bremberton, WA; his sisters, Irene Niece, Ginny Peterson, Judy Parson; other nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Duane was former owner of United Can Corp. He honorably served his country in the US Navy. He was a Little League baseball coach in Coopersville for many years. He started Pony League Baseball in Coopersville and was one of the organizers to introduce Coopersville into the Rocket League Football Program. He graduated from Waupaca High School in Waupaca, WI. He played baseball in the US Navy and at University of Oshkosh at Wisconsin from where he graduated.
