Dorothy VanDeWeert

Dorothy Mae VanDeWeert, age 92, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, September 26, 2026. Dorothy was born December 21, 1933 in Prospect Park, NJ, to the late Lambertus and Gertrude (Memmelaar) Gnade. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John VanDeWeert; her daughter, Deborah Westveer; and 9 brothers and sisters. Dorothy is survived by her children, Gertrude (Bill) Hovinga, Joyce (David) VanHoff, John (Sandy) VanDeWeert; son-in-law, Brian Westveer; grandchildren, Nathan (Stacy) Hovinga and their children Brody, Cole, Reagan; Rebecca (Bill) VanStrien and their children Izzy, Emma, Miah, Maverick; David (Sam) Westveer and their children Jordan & Taylor; Jason (Jamie) Westveer and their children Elizabeth & James; Claire (Garry) Behm and their children Henry, Silas, Ruby; Emily VanHoff; Bennett (Fredie) VanHoff; Kevin (Heather) VanDeWeert and their children Aiden, Raylee, Sadie Sue, Jagar; Kristina (Ryan) Hardy and their children Simon, Eli; Kurt VanDeWeert and Kyle (Megan) VanDe Weert and their children Brady & Charlie. She is also survived by her sister, Antoinette “Tony” Steenstra; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11am at Little Farms Chapel, 2518 Arthur St E. Coopersville, MI 49404 Friends may visit with her family beginning at 9:30am at the church. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Lamont, MI. Memorials are suggested to Little Farms Chapel Christian Education Fund. Dorothy’s funeral service will be available by live stream, at LFCOPC.org
