Doris Marie Grant nee Daller, 79, of Belding, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at St. Mary's Health Center in Grand Rapids. While cancer has taken Doris's mortal life, her family is comforted knowing that she is now with God. Doris was born on May 17, 1926, in Ionia, the daughter of William and Lena M.(Gasper) Daller. Doris was an alumni of Mercy Central School of Nursing in Grand Rapids where she graduated in 1947. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, was a member of the Ave Maria Guild, was a member and held several offices of the Altar Society, a member of the Right-to-Life of Michigan, and of the Michigan Farm Bureau. Doris had also served as a member of the St. Joseph and St. Mary's Pastoral Council. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Doris was married on August 22, 1949 at St. Mary's Church to Richard J. Grant, and he survives along with their children, Richard W. and Barbara J. Grant of Wyoming, Doris Anne (Sandy) Grant, of Grand Rapids, Linda C. and Albert Worth of Elk River, Minnesota, Eileen Marie Grant-Ball, of Eaton Rapids, and Sharon L. Grant, of Grand Rapids. Doris is also survived by her grandchildren; Kristin Hillary Ball, Holly Marie Ball, and John Carden Ball, her brother and sister; William "Bill" and Jean Daller, of Belding, Margaret Schafer, of Hubbardston, her sister-in-law Pat (Daller) and Fritz Laux, of Ionia, and Anne "Nancy" and Peter Savastano, of Totowa, New Jersey. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ralph, and a brother-in-law, Ron Schafer. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 AM Saturday, at St. Mary's Church, 9041 Krupp Rd. Belding, with Monsignor Leo Roslenic, Father CK, and Deacon Howard Scheid as celebrants. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a rosary/scripture service at 8 PM at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Visitation will also take place one hour before mass on Saturday at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Lacks Cancer Center of St. Mary's Health Center.
