Dennis Booker

Dennis Booker Jr., aged 84, of Grand Rapids, MI, went peacefully to the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Servella. Surviving are sons, Dennis Booker III of Detroit, MI, William (Lilly) Booker, Reggie (Belinda) Booker, both of Grand Rapids, Daniel (Paula) Booker of Niceville, FL, Michael (Marilyn) Booker of Grand Rapids, Larry Booker of Grand Rapids and one daughter, Mary Booker of Sandston, VA; special daughters-in-law, Magnolia White of Grand Rapids and Clara Hunter of Grand Rapids; brothers-in-law, JT Johnson of Grand Rapids, Fred Johnson of Lansing, MI, and John (Flora) Hyatt of Grand Rapids; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Dennis Booker was an Army veteran of WWII and served for 25 years at the Grand Rapids Police Department; retiring as a Sergeant. A 1998 recipient of the community Giants Award, he served faithfully as a Deacon at his church, Grace Pentecostal Church of God In Christ. Public viewing will be at Brown Funeral Home, 627 Jefferson SE, Friday 1 to 5 p.m. Homecoming Celebration will be held Saturday at Grace Pentecostal Church of God In Christ, 1441 Leonard SE, 10:00 a.m. family hour, 11:00 a.m. service.
